Phnom Penh (FN), June 26 - Cambodia burnt down over two tons of drugs on Wednesday, 26 June, at Diamond Island Exhibition and Convention Center, Phnom Penh, presided over by Minister of Interior Sar Kheng, representing Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen.

"This anti-drug day raises awareness of the harmful drugs and risks to public health, security, order of our country,” Virith stated.

The United Nations (UN) designated June 26 as International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking by requiring member countries to celebrate the day according to their respective topics in line with the context of drug-related threats, according to Meas Virith, Secretary General of National Authority for Combating Drugs.

Over the last two years, the Royal Government of Cambodia has destroyed over 600 kilograms of narcotic drugs and marijuana.
