Phnom Penh (FN), June 1 - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Kingdom of Cambodia, Prak Sokhonn, paid an official visit to the People’s Republic of China from 30 May to 01 June 2019, during which he paid a courtesy call on Premier Li Keqiang and had a bilateral meeting with Wang Yi, State Councilor and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, according to the ministry's press release dated Saturday.

"Premier Li Keqiang warmly welcome Prak Sokhonn’s first official visit to China and expressed great satisfaction with the consolidation of the long-lasting traditional relations of friendship between Cambodia and China based on equal respect and win-win cooperation," the press release stated.

"Li Keqiang reaffirmed that China will continue to assist Cambodia’s socio-economic development and will lend full support for the success of the 13th ASEM Summit in Cambodia in 2020."

Cambodia expressed high appreciation for China’s enormous contribution to Cambodia’s progress in various sectors and assured the Chinese Premier of Cambodia’s commitment to further enhance cooperation between the two countries under bilateral, regional and international frameworks including the Mekong-Lancang, ASEAN and the UN, the press release added.
