Phnom Penh (FN), Dec. 4 – Kong Korm, President of Sam Rainsy Party announced not to involve with the dissolved Cambodia National Rescue Party, as his absolute rights to political activities near.

Korm told Fresh News Tuesday that “I will not unite with the dissolved CNRP, but be the advisor to Khmer Will Party, of which my son is the President.”

Korm’s statement was made following the announcement of the National Assembly to propose for Amendment on Article 45-new of Political Party that will add a new a paragraph as follows:

“Individual whom the court banned from doing political activities could not create a new party, or participate in any other political parties, or be a candidate for others to vote, or do any activities to support or oppose other parties. Individual whom the court banned from doing political activities will receive absolute rights to legally participate in political activities when banning expired as determined by the Supreme Court’s verdict, or in the case that individual has been rehabilitated by His Majesty King as requested by Prime Minister in accordance with the proposal of Minister of Interior.”

The former SRP President also informed Fresh News that he is not happy with the leadership of Sam Rainsy and Kem Sokha who wanted to change the government without elections.

“I am saddened by how President Sam Rainsy, in 2013, demanded Mr. Hun Sen to give up his premiership without elections. I also do not know until Kem Sokha spoke by himself that he wanted the choices like in Tunisia or Serbia,” Korm stated.
