Kandal (FN), Aug. 3 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen revealed that if CPP received less than 74% of the total votes, he will continue to be the prime minister in order to gain more support for the CPP, speaking on Thursday morning (Aug. 3) in an inauguration ceremony of Ring Road No.3.

"If the percentage of vote for CPP in 2023 is lower than those of 2018 or 2022, I will not step down. I will improve the situation until mid-term of the 7th mandate. Fortunately, the votes for CPP increased and that the future prime minister candidate also received landslide support,” the premier underscored.

Samdech also vowed to return as prime minister if his successor Hun Manet is in danger.
