Beijing (FN), June 30 — The word ‘museum” may sound a little boring to some people, while some would find them unquestionably exciting. China, or formally called the People’s Republic of China, is globally recognised for its massive population, an emerging economy and its advanced technology. Besides these factors, China is also one of the oldest civilized countries in the world, known for its rich long history and that is what makes China spectacular.

Owning more than 3,000 museums, China’s history has been remarkably studied and rooted in the souls of older and younger generations. Museum of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the newly inaugurated landmark has attracted thousands of visitors per day free of charge. The Museum is considerably devoted to displaying and providing insightful moments of China’s significant history, ranging from semi-colonial China to relentless rebellions, which paved the way for the founding of the Party, the establishment of the People’s Republic of China, and last but not least the modern China.

On top of that, the construction of the Museum took nearly three years, beginning on 10 September 2018. The Museum officially opened in June 2021 on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the CPC, presided over by President Xi Jinping, general secretary of the CPC Central Committee.

Throughout a 100-year long of China’s history, the Museum has outstandingly featured China’s struggle to make changes to human civilization, the founding of the CPC, consecutive organizations of the national congress, the revolutionary war, the nation’s war of resistance against Japanese aggression during the 1940s, the exploration of the China’s national conditions, and lastly the socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era.

What’s found in the museum? The Museum houses more than 4,000 cultural and historical relics. Among them, historical papers written by Karl Marx on Socialism were put on display at the beginning of the museum’s exhibition, along with the essentials used during the Long March military retreat, including the Red Army cap worn by Chairman Mao Zedong during his interviews in 1936.

Most fascinatingly, a banner with a phrase “江山就是人民 人民就是江山”, which means “the country is the people and the people are the country”, is largely displayed at the conclusion of the museum section. It was quoted from president Xi’s speech during the 100th founding anniversary, calling for a unity and a solidarity of the Chinese people to defend their nation against any attempt to separate and oppose the CPC. “Fighting the country and defending the country is the heart of the people. The foundation of the CPC lies in the people, its blood lies in the people, and its strength lies in the people,” said president Xi.
