SINGAPORE, April 26 (Xinhua) -- Singapore reported 3,688 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, bringing the total tally to 1,187,914.

Of the new cases, 357 cases were detected through polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests and 3,331 through antigen rapid tests (ART), according to statistics released by the Ministry of Health.

Among the PCR cases, 352 were local transmissions and five were imported. Of the ART cases with mild symptoms and low risk, 3,281 were local transmissions and 50 were imported cases.

A total of 281 cases are currently warded in hospitals, with seven cases in intensive care units.

Two more patients have died from complications due to COVID-19 infection, bringing the death toll to 1,333, the ministry said.
