WASHINGTON, March 23 (TASS) - The US Department of Defense has apparently forgotten how the US and its allies bombed Iraq, Libya and Yugoslavia, Russian Ambassador to the US Anatoly Antonov said, commenting on Pentagon Press Secretary John Kirby’s remarks about alleged Russian ‘military crimes’ in Ukraine.

"There is a feeling that the Pentagon seems to have forgotten how, quite recently, the US and its NATO allies bombed cities in Yugoslavia, Iraq, Libya. Outrageous crimes committed by US servicemen and mercenaries in Afghanistan and Syria also seem to have escaped Washington’s memory," the embassy’s press service quoted Antonov as saying in its Telegram channel.

Ukrainian radical groups employ tactics used by Nazi forces during the Second World War, Antonov said, commenting on Pentagon Press Secretary John Kirby’s remarks about alleged Russian ‘military crimes’ in Ukraine.

"Strikes of our military forces are targeting solely Ukrainian military infrastructure facilities. In turn, Ukrainian radical groups employ tactics used by Nazis during WWII. Using women and children as a human shield, the neo-Nazis deploy multiple-launch rocket systems in residential areas and use them to attack Russian troops," the embassy’s press service quoted Antonov.

They also "use Tochka-U missiles with cluster munitions against civilians" and "prevent civilians from leaving zones of hostilities," the Russian ambassador said.
