(PARIS), Feb 27 (AFP) - The International Judo Federation (IJF) has suspended Vladimir Putin’s status as Honorary President and Ambassador of the organization. IJF website reports.

«In light of the ongoing war conflict in Ukraine, the International Judo Federation announces the suspension of Mr. Vladimir Putin’s status as Honorary President and Ambassador of the International Judo Federation,» the statement says.

The certificate of authority of the Honorary President of the IJF was awarded to Vladimir Putin in 2008.

Today is the fourth day of Russia’s military operation in Ukraine. It started on February 24, 2022. On February 25, fighting took place in the north, south and east of the country. Some cities are either blocked or captured. The number of casualties among the military and civilians continues to grow. Western states impose tough sanctions against the Russian Federation, but they refused to fight in Ukraine.

On February 26, the Spokesman for the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said that the military operation would continue after Ukraine refused to negotiate.
