Phnom Penh (FN), Nov. 16 – Standing Committee of the National Assembly (NA) will hold a session to review a shuffle of the Standing Committee member after the upcoming water festival holidays, NA spokesperson Leng Peng Long told Fresh News on Tuesday.

Cheam Yeab, chairman of the NA’s Economics, Finance, Banking and Auditing Commission, was nominated by the ruling Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) to be the NA’s first vice-president, replacing Nguon Nhel who passed away on 5 November.

Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen also submitted a request on 11 November 2021 to NA president Heng Samrin for a shuffle of heads of the NA’s commission. The NA will review the candidacies as follows:

1. Cheam Yeap to be the NA’s first vice president to replace Nguon Nhel

2. Chheang Vun to be head of Commission of Economics, Finance, Banking and Auditing, replacing Cheam Yeap

3. Suos Yara to be head of NA's Commission on Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, Information and Media, replacing Chheang Vun

4. Nim Chandara to be deputy head of Commission on Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, Information and Media, replacing Sous Yara

5. Ty Sokun to be secretary of the Commission on Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, Information and Media, replacing Nim Chandara

6. Cheab Sivorn to be member of the Commission on Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, Information and Media, replacing Ty Sokun.
