Phnom Penh (FN), Oct. 11 – Cambodian foreign affairs minister Prak Sokhonn and Japanese ambassador Mikami Masahiro signed the Exchange of Notes and related documents on the extension of Japanese Loan and Grant Aid worth in total of USD 72 million, on 11 October 2021 at the Ministry, as follows:

1. Japanese Loan up to the amount of six billion, three hundred and thirty-six million Japanese Yen (approximately USD 58 million) for the purpose of implementing the Siem Reap Water Supply Expansion Project (II).

2. Grant Aid for the purpose of the implementation of the Economic and Social Development Programmes:

- up to maximum amount of two hundred million Japanese Yen (approximately USD 1.8 million) for Landmine Action Sector.

- up to maximum amount of two hundred and fifty million Japanese Yen (approximately USD 2.2 million) for Construction Material Sector.

- up to maximum amount of two hundred and fifty million Japanese Yen (approximately USD 2.2 million) for Cadastral Survey Sector.

- up to maximum amount of four hundred million Japanese Yen (approximately USD 3.6 million) for Human Resource Development Sector.

- up to maximum amount of five hundred million Japanese Yen (approximately USD 4.5 million) for Manufacturing Sector.

The above loan and grant aid extended by the Government of Japan will significantly contribute to promoting the economic and social development of the Kingdom of Cambodia as well as further strengthening the existing good relations and bond of friendship between the two countries.
