Phnom Penh (FN), Sep. 26 – Prime minister Hun Sen, president of Cambodian People's Party (CPP), Nguyen Phu Trong, general secretary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam, and Thongloun Sisoulith, general secretary of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, jointly held a summit on 26 September 2021 in Hanoi, the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, according to CPP’s announcement seen by Fresh News on Sunday.

At the summit, the three leaders highly appreciated the importance of this summit. The leaders informed each other about the situation in their respective countries, including the political party’s work performances, socio-economic development and the fight against COVID19.

“The leaders also recalled their cooperation in the past and set the direction for future cooperation, and agreed on the importance of traditional ties, solidarity and friendship,” the announcement said.

“At the meeting, the leaders of the three parties agreed to strengthen cooperation in all fields, as well as effectively expand existing mechanisms and continue to consult for future cooperation for the benefits for the peoples in order to maintain peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.”

On that occasion, prime minister Hun Sen also paid a courtesy call on president of Viet Nam Nguyen Xuan Phuc and prime minister of Viet Nam Pham Minh Chinh.
