Phnom Penh (FN), Mar. 25 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen announced that all international meetings in Cambodia are cancelled and that all Cambodian officials must stop attending overseas meetings or conferences.

The premier spoke in a meeting with 400 volunteered doctors to fight Covid-19 on 25 March 2020 at the Peace Palace.

“Next steps are to cancel all international meetings to be held in Cambodia and stop sending officials to overseas missions,” stated the premier.

According to Strongman Hun Sen, Asia-Europe Summit might be postponed to 2021.

Many international meetings and games are also cancelled amid Covid-19 which has spread to almost 200 countries across the globe. Japan's Prime Minister Shinzo Abe announced Tuesday that Japan and the International Olympic Committee came to an agreement during a phone call with the head of the IOC, Thomas Bach, following growing calls for the games to be delayed or cancelled because of the concerns around coronavirus pandemic.
