HONG KONG, Aug. 20 (Xinhua) -- The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) government will start work immediately on building a platform for dialogue among all walks of life, Chief Executive Carrie Lam said Tuesday.

While meeting the press, Lam said she hopes all sides can show mutual understanding and respect toward each other, and openly and directly conduct dialogues with people of all ranks and classes with different political stances and backgrounds in a bid to find a way out for Hong Kong.

Lam said she and the heads of the government bureaus are willing to go directly to communities and talk with people.
