WASHINGTON, July 30 (Xinhua) -- Two people were killed and one police officer was injured in a shooting Tuesday.

The shooting occurred at a Walmart store in Southaven, Mississippi sometime between 6:30 a.m. (1130 GMT) and 6:40 a.m. (1140 GMT), according to local police.

The two victims, believed to be employees of the store, were found dead when police arrived.

The suspect was shot and taken to a local hospital with injuries, said the police.

Southaven Mayor Darren Musselwhite tweeted that he is "terribly sad and very angry about this senseless violence," sending condolences to the family and friends of the victims.

The suspect was reportedly a disgruntled worker with a grievance against his employer.
