Phnom Penh (FN), July 1 – The first of July marks one month of the Royal Government of Cambodia’s initiative to fund USD 200 to any poor pregnant woman who carries the child below two-year old.

Over one month, at least 18,725 women received the fund from the government, according to statement of Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen on Monday, 1 July, at the meeting with members and staff of Krousar Thmey Foundation in Phnom Penh, the first Cambodian Foundation helping disadvantaged children.

The fund is believed to reduce the number of children’s growth disorder, particularly neurodevelopmental disorders.

The fund is transferred through Wing Specialized Bank, which the government created the account and Wing card to the poor pregnant women.
