BANGKOK, July 6 (CGTN) -- Two people including one Chinese tourist and a boat crew member have been rescued as search operation continues on Friday for the missing people in Thursday's boats overturn incident off Phuket province in Thailand.

Earlier, Thai rescuers said they have retrieved the body of one tourist who the Chinese consulate-general in Songkhla said belongs to a Chinese tourist.

Another 51 people are still missing, including 49 Chinese nationals.

As of Friday morning, 77 Chinese tourists have been rescued and the injured are receiving treatment in hospital.

The two boats, carrying a total of 127 Chinese tourists, including a 37-member tour group from a furniture firm in east China's Zhejiang Province, capsized on Thursday afternoon in rough seas.

Thai officials say a weather warning was in place on Thursday but the boats still went out.

The Thai navy will arrange a helicopter to assist the rescue operations on Friday morning.
