Phnom Penh (FN), June 29 - The trade volume between Cambodia and the European Union was worth of $6 billion in 2017, while Cambodia exported more than $4 billion to the EU, and the EU to Cambodia nearly $1 trillion, according to Tek Rethkamrang, secretary of state, Ministry of Commerce.

"The EU ranked the first to import many goods from Cambodia - garments, bicycles, and footwear, which strengthened the ties between Cambodia and EU," said Tek Rethkamrang at the first EuroFair in Cambodia on Friday morning.

From 29 June to 1 July 2018, EU hosts an unprecedented fair in Cambodia; 40 companies from Europe registered to participate in the exhibition on Koh Pich Phnom Penh.

The first ever fair displays the best products and services from Europe to Cambodian consumers and entrepreneurs, which help to promote trade between Cambodia and EU. At the same time, about 40 registered companies were displaying vehicles, furniture, goods, machinery, medical equipment, pharmaceuticals, financial services, food, beverages and other products.

The famous brands include BMW, Bosch, Eurasia Concept, Daas & Chemicals, Mercedes, Porsche, Thalias, Hops and Wuerth, and more specifically, special discounts on these products.

She said that the exhibition of the European Union’s products today was a great opportunity for Cambodian and European investors to strengthen economic cooperation with other countries in the world.

Arnaud Darc, president of the European Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia, said this was a great honor for Europe to attend the first EuroFair exhibition in Cambodia.
