Phnom Penh (FN), June 29 - The Supreme Court, on Friday, decided to uphold an 18-month imprisonment sentence against Cambodian analyst Kim Sok, charged of incitement and defamation according to article 494, 495 and 305 of Criminal Law.

In addition to serving his prison term, Kim also have to compensate $200,000 to the plaintiff and $2,000 to the state.

Kim Sok was detained by the PPMC, charged of accusing the ruling party as a man behind the murder of Cambodian political commentator Kem Ley on March 2017 after Ky Tech filed a lawsuit. Today, he is being detained at Prey Sar prison, not too far from the Killing Fields.

Kem Ley was shot dead on July 10, 2016 at a convenience store in Phnom Penh.

Kim Sok has also been sued in another case by the premier for accusing the government of initiating a killing system and the failure to find the murder.
