PHNOM PENH (FN), April 28 – In a university graduation ceremony, today, April 28, Prime Minister Hun Sen warned opposition party members against any attempt to exploit the current drought from which the country is suffering.

Addressing the audience of the graduation ceremony of the University of Human Resources in Phnom Penh, the premier said in reference to opposition politicians that when the country has suffered from natural disasters in the past “those people tend to attack the government for deforestation.” Actually the problem occurs not only in Cambodia but also in other countries, particularly in India where there are even some fatalities, he said.

The Prime Minister also stated that natural disasters are global issues and he challenged the opposition parties to join hands in addressing the problem of water shortage for the people instead.
