Battambang (FN), May 31 – Presiding over an inauguration ceremony of Battambang Conch Cement Company Limited on Thursday at Battambang province, the head of the Royal Government of Cambodia Hun Sen stated that Sam Rainsy, former president of Cambodian National Rescue Party (CNRP) favors prison.

His remarks came after Sam Rainsy has appealed for people to not vote in the July’s election and recently informed his supporters to use faulty ink to mark their fingers as a sign to have voted.

The act is a deliberate intention to mislead the actual number of voters, resulting in more voter turnout than the actual number of ballot papers and that will trigger a social chaos, according to Justice Ministry spokesman Kim Santepheap on Wednesday.

More than 10 lawsuits were filed against Sam Rainsy by Prime Minister Hun Sen, President of National Assembly Heng Samrin, and others. Self-exiled Rainsy faces numerous penalties and fines accordingly.
