PYONGYANG, May 31 (Xinhua) -- Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov arrived here Thursday for a one-day visit to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) at the invitation of his counterpart Ri Yong Ho, said the official Korean Central News Agency.

The visit's schedule has not been revealed by the DPRK side. But DPRK top leader Kim Jong Un is expected to meet Lavrov.

According to the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Lavrov and Ri will discuss the two countries' ties, the situation on the Korean Peninsula as well as other international and regional issues.

Both countries are marking the 70th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations this year.
