Phnom Penh (FN), March 24 - The Cambodian Mine Action Center (CMAC) planned to clear land mines and unexploded ordnance on 120 km2 of land, requiring an approximate budget of $18 million, according to Heng Ratana, Director General of CMAC.

CMAC received $15 million from donors such as Japanese, America and other partners.

“The United States assistance decreased about 20% compared to the previous amount of aid,” said Heng Ratana.

Cambodia has cleared more than 37,448 landmines and ammunition on 8,636 hectares of land, according to CMAC’s report in 2017.
