Phnom Penh (FN), Jan. 22 - Chea Mony, former leader of the Free Trade Union of Workers of the Kingdom of Cambodia (FTUWKC), refused to appear at the court.

Court official said that although Chea Mony did not appear, the court still proceeded. If the offense was found, the prosecutor will charge and submit case to the Investigating Judge to take action.

Sieng Sok, Phnom Penh Municipal Court’s Deputy Prosecutor, summoned him to appear to court on Monday morning.

Chea Mony was charged of “incitement” regarding complaint filed by 120 unions and union coalition representing by lawyers of plaintiff, Dara Sopanha and Keto Sovandy.

Chea Mony, through a foreign radio, requested the European Union and U.S. to sanction Cambodia in the hope that the government would be suffering, thus seek negotiation to solve political crisis with the main opposition party.
