Phnom Penh (FN), Jan. 18 – Cambodia sent 184 blue beret engineers to serve peacekeeping operation in Lebanon. At the same time, Cambodia also welcomed the arrival of the demining forces No 369 and No 459 who completed their mission under the framework of United Nations.

The ceremony was held on Thursday, presided over by Defense Minister Tea Banh with all level of defense officials.

Since 2006, Cambodia has sent approximately 5,000 forces to the United Nations Mission, of which 200 people are women.

Currently, Cambodia has about 1,000 active forces in five countries, including Sudan, South Sudan, Central Africa, Lebanon and Mali.

Cambodia is the second largest among ASEAN Member States to send forces under UN framework.
