(Phnom Penh): Pen Bona, Minister Delegate attached to the Prime Minister and Head of the Royal Government Spokesperson Unit, said that Cambodia remains firmly committed to the ceasefire agreement without deviation. Cambodia’s peace-loving stance aligns with the expectations of the international community.

Pen Bona spoke on Monday (Aug. 4) during a press conference.

“Cambodia continues to uphold the ceasefire agreement without change. Our peaceful and law-abiding stance is consistent with international norms and expectations,” the spokesperson underscored.

Pen Bona also called on the Cambodian citizens to maintain national unity and continue to raise the Cambodian flag high. He pointed out that “the voice of Cambodia is being heard globally, making it clear to the international community that we are a nation that wants to live in peace.”

He further urged the public to have confidence in the Royal Government and Cambodia’s brave armed forces.

It should be noted that armed clashes between Cambodia and Thailand broke out on the morning of 24 July 2025 at the Ta Moan Thom Temple complex in Oddar Meanchey Province and later spread to other areas along the Cambodia–Thailand border. The conflict erupted after Thai forces initiated the first attack at Ta Moan Temple.

Following ceasefire negotiations between Cambodia and Thailand in Malaysia on 28 July 2025, an immediate and unconditional ceasefire agreement was reached, taking effect at 24:00 midnight on 28 July 2025. Since then, Cambodia has fully respected the agreement without any violations.
