Phnom Penh (FN), October 23 - Tea Banh, Cambodia’s Minister of Defense has asked U.S to deal with unexploded ordnance dropped by U.S on Cambodian territory in late 1960s and early 1970s that have seriously affected the lives of Cambodians as well as socio-economic development in the country.

Tea Banh's remarks were made during the 15th ASEAN Defense Ministers’ Meeting (ADMM) on Monday in Pampanga Province, Philippines.

The informal meeting was also attended by US Defense Secretary James Mattis and other 10 ASEAN Defense Ministers.

Through the meeting, General Tea Banh hoped that U.S will increase its efforts to remove unexploded ordnance and remnants left behind from the Indochina War in the 1970s.

He also believed that the US-ASEAN cooperation in the framework of bilateral cooperation between ASEAN member states and U.S will continue to provide a strategic path to strengthen good relations, and mutual respect on all matters based on the interests of the people, as well as peace, security and stability in the region.
