Phnom Penh (FN), Feb. 13 – The ASEAN-US Summit to be held in California, United States, on Feb. 15-16, 2016 is a good opportunity to promote cooperation within strategic partner framework between U.S and ASEAN Member States more effectively and more comprehensively, said Cambodian Prime Minister.

In a post on his Facebook page on Feb.13, the premier said he will lead a delegation on Sunday Feb. 14, to attend the meeting at the invitation of U.S. President Obama.

According an earlier announcement by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, senior government’s officials that will accompany the Prime Minister include Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hor Namhong, Minister of Commerce Sun Chanthol, Minister of Economy and Finance Aun Pornmoniroth, and Minister of Education Hang Choun Naron.

The ASEAN-US Summit is expected to discuss a series of agenda items covering the current regional and global security issues that will also include South China Sea Issue – conflicts between China and some ASEAN member states.
