Stung Treng (FN), September 25 – Se San II Watergate was successfully shutdown, which was organized by the Ministry of Mines and Energy and Hydro Power Authority Se San 2 Co., Ltd, was presided over by Prime Minister Hun Sen, members of the National Assembly, and others on Monday morning.

The 400-megawatt Se San 2 Hydroelectric Power Project has been approved by the Royal Government of Cambodia for Hydro Power Se San 2 Co., Ltd. to invest and construct, with three joint ventures: 51% of Hydrolancang International Energy Co., 39% from Royal Group and 10% from EVN International of Vietnam.
 
PM Hun Sen considered it as a great new success for Cambodia, which will supply cheap and sustainable electricity nationally.  

It will also reduce Cambodia's electricity import from Vietnam and Laos, thus will promote Cambodian economic development.

With this announcement, Prime Minister Hun Sen expressed his admiration and thanks to the People's Republic of China for urging Chinese companies to invest in Cambodia.

The premier urged environmental extremism people to reconsider whether they want to halt the development or cheap electricity.

He reiterated that Cambodia is a paradise for anti-government organization to ask for funding. However, those baseless opposition could not stop Cambodia from developing.
