Phnom Penh (FN), September 15 - National Election Committee (NEC) spokesman, Hang Puthea said that NEC does not involved in politics, as the NEC organizes elections in accordance to the law came into force.

The remark was made in a workshop for journalists on updating voter list and registration for the 2017 election at Tonle Bassac 2 restaurant on Friday and in response to a small number of journalists who tried to link this committee into politics.

He added that the NEC welcomes national and international media outlets to disseminate the election process

"Do not link NEC into politics. NEC is responsible for two things: first, to implement the election according to the laws that the parliament approved and second to organize technical works for people to vote,” stated Hang Puthea.

NEC has called on all media outlets to properly disseminate the election process in Cambodia, especially the updating of the voter list and registration.
