Phnom Penh (FN), August 7 - Ith Sam Heng, Minister of Labor noted that textile, garment, and footwear exports to the European Union, especially Germany, continue to rise.

Cambodian exports to Germany have apparently increased to $1 billion.

The Minister shared these findings after a meeting with Ingo Karsten, Ambassador of Germany to Cambodia, on Monday.

"Germany is determined to continue to increase its imports from Cambodia" assured Ith Sam Heng.

In his statement, the minister reiterated the Royal Government of Cambodia's focus to prioritize textiles, garments, and footwear over the next 10 years.

Cambodia's ongoing action to reform labor laws and legal norms, especially in pursuing trade policies, linking to working conditions; promoting welfare in the workplace; increasing productivity and improving the living conditions of Cambodian workers will strengthen the country's relationships with importing countries.
