Phnom Penh (FN), July 4 - Ny Chakrya, deputy secretary-general of the National Election Committee (NEC), returned to his office after being released on bail by the court on Saturday, according to Khorn Keo Mono, director of the Information and Public Relations Department.

Hang Puthea, a spokesman of the NEC, said that Ny Chakrya has to wait for confirmation from the court before re-enter his office because the court's decision in the past had not been clear about the reinstatement.

"The NEC did not remove him (Ny Chakrya) from the election officer. I did not know when he started working, but found him working in his office”, stated Khorn Keo Mono.

Mr. Keo Mono said that for the summons of Mr. Ny Chakrya to proceed to settle the case, the NEC had no authority to interfere with this institution because it was personal issue.

Ny Chakrya was charged with conspiracy to commit acts of bribery under Articles 29 and 548 of the Criminal Code.
