Phnom Penh (FN), June 28 – Thai authorities have detained 225 Cambodian workers who illegally entered Chonburi province to live and work, according to Ministry of Foreign Affairs’s spokesman Chum Sounry on Wednesday.

Chum added that of the 225 workers, 40 workers had the proper working permits but were found working at different places than their paperwork specified; two had fake employment permits, and 183 were without proper documentation at all.

Thai authorities sent those without working permits to immigration to prepare them for deportation to Cambodia, while those who were working at the incorrect place or held fake employment permits will be sent to court.
