Phnom Penh (FN), June 19 - Kem Sokha, president of the National Rescue Party (CNRP), acknowledged that the CNRP lost the election held on June 4, 2017.

The result has discouraged some supporters but Kem Sokha has continued to urge hope.

“I expected to gain 60%, but we won only 44%,” he said.

“We are looking forward to win the election, but we must continue to move forward. There are some people who work hard to vote for a change, but for now we cannot achieve the changes so supporters become exhausted, we do not want them to feel tired,” said Kem Sokha.

The preliminary results of the commune election suggest that CPP has received more than 1160 communes, while CNRP received 480 communes. CPP gained more than 30 thousand votes compared to 2013 election.
