Phnom Penh (FN), June 19 – Kem Sokha, president of CNRP, recognized his party's use of racist rhetoric angry against the Vietnamese in order to gain votes was wrong and contributed to racial violence.

“We cannot continue this propaganda. It will induce anger, a hot issue that we avoid,” stated the CNRP President.

Throughout the past, CNRP senior officials and activists have used the fact that Vietnamese people hold high positions in business and profit greatly from projects in Cambodia ranging from the Angkor Archaeological Park’s ticketing, land concession management companies, as well as major attractions on Kampot’s Bokor Mountain.

Kem Sokha recognized that his party's message energized people who oppose the Vietnamese people.

He has acknowledged this to be political propaganda.
