Phnom Penh (FN), May 16 - Three members of the Khmer People's National Liberation Front (KPNLF) were arrested for publicly supporting the fall of the government.

They were arrested on Tuesday while holding a press conference, according to Sim Rith, Phnom Penh deputy commissioner in charge of security.

During the conference they requested the UN to organize national elections in Cambodia, to liberate prisoners, to request that superpowers examine the Paris Peace Accords, and to liberate their leader Sam Serei.

Sam Serei was arrested for unsuccessfully leading a coup against the government.

In Oct. 2014, the government arrested 10 members of KPNLF for rallying in front of Phnom Penh Capital Hall.

In Dec. 2016, the Phnom Penh Municipal Court charged them 5-9 years imprisonment for treason.
