Phnom Penh (FN), May 16 – According to a report from the Ministry of Tourism, 1.5 million tourists visited Cambodia during the first quarter of 2017, an increase of 11.9% compared to the same period in 2016.

The ministry is expecting 5.4 million tourists by the end of 2017.

Of those, an estimated 1 million will be from China.

Cambodia hosted 270,000 Chinese tourists from January to March, an increase of 25.7% compared to 2016.

Today, 12 airlines fly from China to Cambodia. Among the 12, eight are Chinese companies.

There are 120 flights per week to Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, and Sihanoukville.
