PHNOM PENH (FN) Jan. 16 – U.S State Department announced today that Secretary of State John Kerry will visit Phnom Penh on Jan. 26 aiming to meet with Prime Minister Hun Sen and Hor Namhong, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs. 

The purpose of the visit is to discuss on the ASEAN-U.S. Special Summit in Sunnylands, California, to be held next month and to strengthen bilateral and economic cooperation between the two countries. 

John Kerry is scheduled to visit Switzerland on Jan. 20-22, Saudi Arabia on Jan. 23, Laos on Jan. 25, Cambodia on Jan. 26, and China on Jan. 27 respectively.

President Obama has invited Prime Minister Hun Sen to attend a two-day ASEAN-U.S. Summit in California that will be held on Feb. 15-16, 2016.
