PHNOM PENH (FN), Jan. 10 — Cambodian Government issued today an official notice that transfer of properties from parents to children, from husbands to spouses and from grandparents to grandchildren will be exempt from tax.

The decision was made by Prime Minister Hun Sen after discussions and endorsement by the Cambodian People’s Party Central Committee conference this morning. However, the tax exemption will not be applied to those who have already done in the past.

This decision by the government, particularly initiated by Prime Minister Hun Sen, in regard of either decreasing or cancelling of payment fees for public services is a follow-up to a series of similar decisions related to the new traffic law that has come into force just for days.
