Phnom Penh (FN), April 11 - Prime Minister Hun Sen announced that China has donated 4.2 billion USD to Cambodia since February 2017.

The PM's statement came Tuesday morning while he presided during the launching of Xi Jinping's Book entitled "Xi Jinping: China's Good Governance" at the Peace Palace in Cambodia.

The grant aid and loans were provided to develop infrastructure, agriculture, hospitality, education and social security.

The premier added that due to the warm diplomatic relations between the two countries, trade has increased 26%.

During 2016, commercial trade between China and Cambodia reached over $4.8 billion dollars.

Cambodia exported over $830 million and China imported $3.9 billion worth of goods.

The Premier revealed China was the single largest investor during 2016.

China has invested $5.1 billion in the manufacturing, construction, textile and electricity operations.

Over 830 million Chinese tourists have visited Cambodia, an increase of 20% comparing to 2015,

With the "One Belt One Road" and "Maritime Silk Road" initiatives , the two countries will improve economic development by strengthening production, trade, tourism, investment and agriculture.
