Phnom Penh (FN), April 5 – The Ministry of Interior (MoI) officially recognized Kem Sokha as the president of Cambodia National Rescue Party (CRNP), but did not recognize the three vice presidents, according to MoI letter issued on Wednesday.

“MoI officially recognized CNRP’s President Kem Sokha and accepted CNRP’s decision on the removal of the political slogan: replace commune leaders serving the ruling party with commune leaders serving people,” wrote MoI's letter addressed to CNRP.

“MoI did not recognize CNRP’s vice presidents – Pol Ham, Mu Sochua, and Eng Chhay Eang, as the decision violated the article 47-New of CNRP’s criteria,” added the letter.

On Friday last week, the ministry has recognized the amendment on article 45 and article 47 of the CNRP's criteria, which was requested by the CNRP's Extraordinary Congress on March 2, 2017.

MoI, meanwhile, asked CNRP to put effort in implementing its party's criteria.
