Phnom Penh (FN), Mar 23 - Neng Nat, Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP)'s Standing Committee member, issued a letter on Thursday requesting Kem Sokha to resign his presidency.

"Political party's criteria prevails all law in the party that we must follow. Everybody knows clearly that CNRP's congress on choosing new leaders in the party has been done untimely without firm support from the majority of CNRP's members," Neng Nat wrote in the letter.

"To prevent the dissolve of CNRP, on behalf of the Standing Committee, I would like to request Kem Sokha to resign his presidency to prove that he does have a tendency to take over CNRP just like the will of the former president Sam Rainsy, who rescued CNRP from dissolving; meanwhile, allowing CNRP to select new party leader in accordance to political party's criteria," he added.
