Phnom Penh – Approaching the 40th anniversary of his marriage with Samdech Bun Rany, Prime Minister Hun Sen said he was prepared to make public his personal story in connection to how he and his wife, met and became a married couple.

In a message posted on his Facebook page this morning, Hun Sen said that 40 years ago, and that was January 2, 1976, he received an order that he would have to get married the next few days. He therefore, said he was willing to share with the public his love story throughout that time.

He added that, the whole storyline is divided into 3 main parts, the first of which will be posted on January 3, the second on January 4, and the last part on January 5, 2016, which is also the 40th anniversary of his marriage. He also guided interested readers to query “Who fell in love with whom first, between me and my wife?”

“Although it is my personal story, it is reflective of the plight of Cambodian people all across the country during the genocide regime,” the premier said. “It is also relatable to the historical accounts of the resistance against the regime. I will not go through the whole story of my life, but will only focus on, how I met my wife; how the marriage was arranged followed by a brief post-marriage account,” he added.
