Phnom Penh (FN), March 17 - The National Election Committee (NEC) will spend $53 million on the process of commune council election, which will be held on June 4, 2017.

The budget is funded by the EU, Japan, and China, according to NEC's spokesman Hang Puthea.

"NEC has had $53 million and other required tools to process the election," stated NEC spokesman after meeting with delegation from Kofi Annan Foundation on Friday evening.

So far, there has been 12 political parties registered for the election.
