Phnom Penh (FN), Feb. 21 –Color revolutionist Kong Raya, 26, will be released on Wednesday after 18 months of incarceration.

Raya, a political science freshman of Khemarak University, has reportedly pled guilty to accusations that he called for a color revolution against the current government via Facebook.

“Who dare to join me for a color revolution? One day in the future, I will undertake a color revolution to bring changes to Cambodia, regardless of what would happen to me: death or imprisonment,” Kong Raya wrote on his Facebook page.

He was arrested on Aug. 22, 2015 and held in detention by the court since then for “Provocation to Commit Crimes” under Article 494 and Article 495 of the Penal code.

The offense is punishable by imprisonment from six (6) months to two (2) years with a fine of one (1) million Riels ($250) to four (4) million Riels ($1,000).
