Phnom Penh (FN), Jan 25 – National Union Alliance Chamber of Cambodia (NACC)’s President Som Aun representing 400,000 workers in Cambodia fully supported Prime Minister’s Initiative to Clear Cambodia’s Debt to U.S.

While attending Sea Festival in Sihanouk Ville in 2016, and World Economic Forum in 2017, Prime Minister Hun Sen requested the newly elected president Donald Trump to abolish the debt by claiming that the U.S, as a world’s superpower, shall be responsible for backing the overthrow of King Norodom Sihanouk, which led to Civil War and Genocidal Regime.

“The debt is not humanitarian. The debt was created by the overthrown of King Norodom Sihanouk. The approximately 3 million tons bomb dropped by the U.S during War in Vietnam has killed 500,000 people and damaged the infrastructure. According to the history, without the support from the U.S, there would not have been Genocidal Regime and without such regime, 3 million people would not have been killed”, said NACC's President Som Aun.

“NACC, representing 400,000 workers in garment and education sectors, would oppose and condemn any acts that urge the Cambodian government to pay the debt to the U.S," he added.
