HANOI, Nov. 3 (Xinhua) -- Heavy rain in central Vietnam has caused four deaths, one missing and 12 injuries as of Thursday morning, according to local authorities.

Specifically, among the death toll, two are reported in Quang Binh province and two in Quang Tri province. Meanwhile, one person remained missing in Quang Binh province, according to the Department of Natural Disaster Prevention and Control under Vietnam's Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

As many as 367 houses, 300 classrooms and six healthcare facilities are flooded. At the same time, over 300 hectares of rice and crop are drowned, while over 6,250 cattle and poultries are washed away by flood.

According to Vietnam's national hydro-meteorological forecasting center, from now till Saturday, the country's central region will continue to experience downpours with total rainfall of around 100 mm, and even over 250 mm in some areas.
