Phnom Penh (FN), August 14 – Phnom Penh International Airport police apprehended a Romanian man in the afternoon of August 14, 2016 at the airport with around 5kg of cocaine .

Senior General Meas Vyrith, Secretary General of the National Authority for Combatting Drugs, congratulated and praised the authorities of Phnom Penh International Airport for the success in cracking down on this trans-border drug trafficking.

“The authorities made arrest of a Romanian man traveling on flight QR970, on August 14, 2016 at 15:50 pm and found 4,960.69 grams of cocaine imported into Cambodia,” Gen. Vyrith said.

The suspect has been sent over to the Anti-Drugs Department of the Ministry of Interior for further actions according to the legal procedures.

It should be recalled that Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior Sar Kheng awarded $20,000 to the anti-drug police department for their achievement in tracking and arresting a Thai national On August 1, 2016 with over 14kg of Methamphetamine.
