PHNOM PENH, July 15 (Xinhua) — The National Assembly of Cambodia issued a statement on Friday, strongly condemning the terrorist attack in the French city of Nice, which killed at least 84 people.

"This is a barbaric act, which should not happen between humans and humans," the statement said.

"The National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia strongly condemns the cruelest terrorist attack."

According to the statement, the National Assembly also extended its profound condolences to the injured and the families of the dead in the terrible violence.

At least 84 people were killed and scores of others remained in critical condition when a truck rammed into a crowd marking the French national day in Nice on Thursday night.

On Friday evening, some 200 French citizens and their Cambodian friends paid tribute to the victims at a ceremony in Phnom Penh, which was organized by the French embassy.
