Phnom Penh (FN), June 27 – Cambodia’s Minister of Environment Say Sam Al asked Swedish government for scholarship support to Cambodian students in the fields of environment protection; bio-diversity preservation; natural resource management and sustainable livelihood.

The minister made his request to the Swedish government this morning of June 27, 2016 at a meeting with Ms. Anna Höglund, Swedish Ambassador to Cambodia, during her courtesy call and farewell to the minister when her diplomatic mission in Cambodia was completed.

The minister also praised the Swedish Ambassador for her contribution to promotion of human rights, democracy and development in Cambodia.

The Swedish Ambassador on her part accepted the proposal, emphasizing that she was supportive of an increase of scholarships to Cambodian youth.

The two sides were committed to further enhancing and expanding cooperation in the areas related to environment and particularly climate change.
