Phnom Penh (FN), June 13 – Reinforcing what he told the Fresh News last weekend, Prime Minister Hun Sen this morning reiterated that there will be no meeting and discussion between the Cambodian People’s Party and the Cambodian National Rescue Party in the coming period, emphasizing that if there were to be a meeting and discussion, it would not be about personal issue nor any issue that would affect the court proceeding and the people that are in the prison.

Prime Minister Hun Sen made the remark during a university graduation ceremony in the morning of June 13, 2016 at Koh Pich center.

“There will be no discussion between CPP and the CNRP. The only entry point is the National Assembly but the CNRP has already shut it down,” said the premier. “And if there would be a meeting in the coming period, CPP will not discuss any issues that are within the authority of the court and neither on issue of those people being imprisoned,” he added.
The premier made his statement in response to the CNRP for reportedly saying that there would be discussions between the CPP and CNRP on political issues that also include the issues of Mr. Sam Rainsy and Kem Sokha, respectively president and vice president of the CNRP.

“If you want to meet and talk with me about what additional laws or legislations should be made, I would immediately agree to talk; about what more do we need? But here, some people have problems with using false country’s border maps and others have different problems that are within the authority of the court. So, how can the CPP talk and deal with those issues on behalf of the court? No, don’t hold the CPP accountable to those problems,” the premier said.
